Microsoft Application Virtualisation (APP-V) virtualises applications in both thin client and "fat" client environments. Stops DLL Hell!

In thin client environments allowing Microsoft Virtual Application software to deliver the application to the user "just in time" is a great solution. The SCCM APP-V cache is then available for any other user to run the application immediately after this has been initiated by the first user of the application. For distributed environments the sequenced file can by compiled into MSI and delivered by SCCM to the virtual cache ready for use by the end user without any requirement for streaming which may be problematic over slow links or busy networks

Applications are rapidly delivered using a streaming protocol, when needed, to laptops, desktops and terminal servers. Just 5%-40% of the software (depending upon the application) is needed to launch the application. Additional components are delivered when as transparently requested by the application. This results in faster delivery of the application when needed
